Dr. Kristi Hammerle, PT, DPT CBS is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, and owner of Year One Wellness, a fast-growing cash-based private practice in Austin, TX. She has a passion for sharing her knowledge with students and therapists and empowering them to go out and change the world through physical therapy. Kristi currently teaches classes on infant development, oral motor function, and the physical therapist's role in breastfeeding at Texas Woman's University. She has also presented at multiple professional conferences on the therapist’s role in breastfeeding such as at the Texas Physical Therapy Conference (Austin, TX 2023), APTA Pediatrics Annual Conference (Providence, RI 2024), and APTA CSM (Houston, TX 2025). She advocates for the PT legislative agenda regularly at the Texas State Capitol and United States Capitol. Her practice has seen over 1,000 infants providing physical and occupational therapy treatment in the areas of bottle and breastfeeding difficulty, torticollis, craniofacial asymmetry, developmental delay, and wellness. Clinical Mentorship

  • Get individualized one-on-one time with Kristi to ask all of your questions about infant treatment and/or adding specialized infant treatment to your practice. She will teach with a multi-method approach to appeal to various learning styles. She knows some of the styles PTs learn best are through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning. Therefore, you can expect to understand the "why" behind your treatment decisions, practice guided treatment on yourself, and learn through her robust library of photos and videos.
